Shokunin collects and stores the following data locally on your device: (1) Skill information including names, descriptions, custom colors, and creation dates; (2) Practice session data including start/end times, duration, and optional session notes; (3) Progress metrics such as total practice time per skill and milestone achievements; (4) Application preferences including focus mode settings and notification preferences. All data is stored locally using iOS Core Data framework with optional iCloud CloudKit synchronization that you can control.

How We Use Your Information

All data processing occurs locally on your device. We use your information to: track your skill development progress, provide personalized mountain climbing visualizations, calculate achievement milestones, deliver focus mode functionality, and sync data across your devices (only if you enable iCloud sync). No personal data is transmitted to external servers or third parties.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on your device using iOS's built-in data protection framework with encryption. If you enable iCloud sync, data is encrypted during transmission and storage using Apple's security standards. We implement app sandboxing and screenshot prevention features to protect your privacy. Your data is included in iOS device backups and can be restored when setting up new devices.

Third-Party Services

Shokunin integrates with the following Apple services: (1) Apple CloudKit for optional cross-device data synchronization; (2) Apple Push Notification Service for focus reminders and achievement notifications; (3) iOS Screen Time framework for focus mode app blocking functionality. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or social media integrations.

Children's Privacy

Shokunin is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will work to delete such information.

Your Rights and Controls

You have complete control over your data: (1) View all stored data within the app's settings; (2) Export your data in Core Data format; (3) Delete specific practice sessions or entire skills; (4) Enable or disable iCloud synchronization at any time; (5) Completely remove all data by deleting the app from your device. You can also control notification permissions through iOS Settings.

Data Retention

Data is retained locally on your device indefinitely until you choose to delete it. If you enable iCloud sync, data remains in iCloud according to Apple's retention policies. When you delete a skill or practice session, it is permanently removed from your device and iCloud (if sync is enabled). Uninstalling the app will delete all local data.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and updating the 'Last updated' date. Your continued use of Shokunin after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
